Lorene Margaret Black Sain, the first of seven children born to Nobel W. Black, Sr. and Onie Barringer Black, came into this world September 18, 1921, on the family farm near Ward Springs, Oklahoma. From those humble beginnings, Lorene went on to continually strive to improve herself through shear grit, education and life experiences. . The most significant of these was her marriage to Steve F. Sain in November of 1940. On March 8, 2015, at age 93 Lorene's spirit left this earth. Her daughter, Susan Sain of Phoenix, her sister, Ruth Evelyn Black Thrift...

Lorene Margaret Black Sain, the first of seven children born to Nobel W. Black, Sr. and Onie Barringer Black, came into this world September 18, 1921, on the family farm near Ward Springs, Oklahoma. From those humble beginnings, Lorene went on to continually strive to improve herself through shear grit, education and life experiences. . The most significant of these was her marriage to Steve F. Sain in November of 1940. On March 8, 2015, at age 93 Lorene's spirit left this earth. Her daughter, Susan Sain of Phoenix, her sister, Ruth Evelyn Black Thrift of Oklahoma City, OK, and numerous nieces, nephews, greats and great-greats survive her. Her husband, Steve, her parents, one sister and four brothers, preceded her in death. She will be remembered for being a devout Christian as well as a founding member of the Church of Christ Valley Congregation, a strong individual, a lover of art, animals, and flowers...and for that spectacular head of silver hair. Services are Friday, April 10, 2015 in the Chapel at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85009. Visitation 10-11 am Funeral Service 11 am with Interment immediately following. Donations in Lorene's memory can be made to Huger Mercy Living Center's Building Fund, 2345 W.
